Event Description:
The “China Carnival” All-Star Performing Troupe will be coming to Canada again during the 2012 Chinese New Year! Since its debut in 2008, over 25 breathtaking shows were held in more than 12 cities across North America. To celebrate the Year of the Dragon, Calgary Chinese Community is honored to have gathered enough local support to welcome the performing troupe to Calgary for the first time. Calgary is the last stop for the troupe in their 20-day North American tour this year.
This gala celebration will focus on the meticulously selected best numbers of the all-star visiting troupe. The 75-member all-star troupe specializes in ancient Chinese musical instruments, singing styles, forms of dance and costumes from a variety of Chinese minorities and historical periods. It will give the audience in Calgary the opportunity to enjoy nationally-renowned artists from China. The show will be rich and colorful, including traditional singing and dancing, acrobatics and magic.
