The Museum of Contemporary Art-Calgary (MOCA Calgary) is proud to host the exhibition SILVER – 25 Years of Children’s Art organized by the staff of the North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres. The exhibition will be held at MOCA Calgary from May 3 to May 6, 2012.
The 25th Annual Exhibition showcases nearly 100 art works created by your artists (age 3 to 17) who were enrolled the past year in the visual arts programs conducted by professional Calgary-based artists at the North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres. This presentation promotes and celebrates 25 Years of children’s creativity and their talents, and is characteristic of the extraordinary work being created at these two City of Calgary Arts Centres.
Opening remarks will be provided by Mr. Jeffrey Spalding, MOCA’s Artistic Director. Mr. Al Duerr, former Mayor of Calgary, who was instrumental in the development and promotion of the children’s art program, will be a Special Guest during the official opening of this exhibition at MOCA Calgary (located adjacent to the Municipal Building), 800 Macleod Trail SE on First Thursday, May 3rd at 5:30 pm. The young artists will be in attendance.
A cookie and juice reception for the young artists, their families, and MOCA visitors will follow the official opening.
ADMISSION IS FREE. DONATIONS ARE WELCOME !
