What is black history? Is it even politically correct to call it that? Explore the concept with a symposium of artists at the downtown branch of the Central Public Library (616 Macleod Trail SE) 7pm on Friday, February 10. The panel will include genre-defying author and historian Cheryl Foggo, 1970s German rock band vocalist and visual artist Malcolm Mooney, Sudanese author and musician Paul Atanya, jeweler and percussionist Bassirou Sylla, Diaspora dance doyen Michèle Moss, Steel drum player Chris Copeland, and Brian Quaye. Presented in partnership with Calgary Public Library. Admission is free.
